Blog post: Where can I work in London?

Around a month ago a group of strangers got together in a completely spontaneous way in one of those moments that makes you think the internet isn’t always such a dark place after all.

It started with a tweet by a freelance writer Caroline O’Donoghue (@Czaroline)

In one tweet, a user need was identified (I’m freelance and need a coffee shop to work from) that seemed to resonate with her followers and their followers too.

A quick and dirty shared spreadsheet was made and opened to anyone. It grew and grew, with people adding their own locations and more columns too like wifi passwords, reviews of the staff and even a star rating.

I chipped in by turning the sheet into a Google map (below)

It was either a really great example of an altruistic-collaborative-agile-methodology or just a nice thing that happened on twitter and Google. Helping people to help themselves.

Helping people to help themselves.
